Amici's Past Concerts
The premier Amici Music Ensemble concert was 2005 with a quartet of Mandy Clare, soprano, Joanne Pruitt Koehn, mezzo soprano, Lucinda King, pianist and Bryan Matlock, guitarist at the Dougherty Arts Center on June 11, 2005 for the benefit of Project Access, a coordinated system of volunteer physician care, hospice care and assistance for low income, uninsured families of Travis County The next concert presented John Vold, guitarist from the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee and UWM guitar graduate and Joanne in 16th century Spanish IL MAESTRO, songs of Luis Milan at Laguna Gloria, Austin Art Museum (photo goes here somewhere) A Christmas concert benefit for The Smile Train which helps millions of of children in the world who suffer from cleft lip and palate through free surgery for children, training of doctors and research to find a cure. Amici donations gave the cost of surgery for three children. More concerts through the next several years were given at Laguna Gloria with instrumental and vocal combinations of music with Brett Bachus, Mandy Clare and Todd Galbraith. In 2011 we presented great talent from Mexico, various cities in Texas and artists from Great Hills Baptist Church at the magnificent hall of the First Presbyterian Church of Austin. Four Amici soloists, Phillip Pearl, Francine McNeil-Harris, Beth Lambrecht, Joanne Koehn and Erica Johnson, pianist performed this summer in Milwaukee at Bastille Days with French popular songs and the only troupe singing French opera!
